AVILAStudio was appointed to develop the structural solution for this extensive residential refurbishment project in North West London, in collaboration with the architectural office Y-Architecture. The project required a tailored solution for the open space kitchen living room at the ground floor, and consequently the erection of a steel support structure under the majority of the rear part of the building, together with the extension of both second and loft level. The peculiarity of the project involved, aside from the extensive amount of demolition required, also a considerably short programme as well as a limited budget. AVILAStudio provided full engineering services including the support required for a successful Value Engineering exercise that the team was required to perform in order to reduce the overall costs. The project was then completed within budget and programme with full satisfaction of the Client.
